ABOUT ME
NATHANIEL H. STOLTZ

I started writing about baseball in March of 2008 on a whim at Bleacher Report, soon after it first started. Over the next eight years, I wrote at a variety of places: FanSided, OaklandCluhouse, a couple of different SB Nation sites, and perhaps most notably FanGraphs. Originally, I covered a mix of major and minor league baseball with a heavy emphasis on analytics, but by the FanGraphs days I had moved to doing live game looks and pretty much exclusively minor league talent evaluation and projection. I ultimately left baseball writing in late 2015 to pursue my Ph.D. in Communication at the University of Maryland.

After not writing about the sport for the next seven years, I started watching more minor league baseball in 2021, albeit exclusively via video, and felt I might have enough insight to offer from those viewings that I launched the site as an outlet for my thoughts in April of 2022. Generally speaking, I plan on having the site house some basic information on all the prospects of the Oakland A’s system–my favorite team growing up, even though I’m originally from Virginia and have never been to the Bay Area (longish, random story) as well as my customary oversized meanderings on whatever I find interesting in the baseball space. You can read more about what the site is (supposed to be) here.
